This course is designed to introduce the student to the concepts and principles of disease processes using a case-based format. The primary focus of the course includes the oral examination and the recognition of deviations from normal. Specific diseases commonly seen in the orofacial region are discussed with a consideration of etiology, pathogenesis, clinical and microscopic features, treatment options and prognosis. Systemic diseases with oral manifestations are also included. 3 hours lecture. Course usually offered in the Fall semester. Prerequisite: BIO 232 (SC 2116), BIO 235 (SC 2123), DHY 104 (DH 1114)
