This course provides an orientation to the role and function of the dental assistant as an integral member of the dental health team. Designed to introduce the student to chairside assisting procedures commonly used in general and specialty practices. Focus is given to the types of procedures performed in dental practice, the theory behind these procedures, and the instruments and materials associated with each procedure.
