An introductory survey of the plant kingdom with special emphasis on the morphology, physiology, and embryology of the higher vascular plants, namely angiosperms and gymnosperms. The economic and medicinal importance of plants to humans may also be examined. Laboratory exercises illustrate topics discussed in lecture. 3 hours lecture/2 hours laboratory Corequisite: Placement above or successful completion of ENG 060 (EN 2103) and eligibility for ENG 101 (EN 1103). Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in ENG 075 (EN 2122) or ENG 085 (EN 2131) if CPT reading placement test is between 68 and 75.
