This course is devoted to the pre-press production techniques necessary for preparation of artwork and typeset materials for printing. It encompasses both traditional board work for cameraready mechanicals and also electronic file preparation (Mac OS based) for output to film or plate. Emphasis will also be placed on developing a familiarity with technical print terminology and practices. Students will need to plan extensive independent lab time to work on and produce required assignments. Prerequisites: ART 151 (HU 2151), ART 153 (HU 2181), ART 161 (HU 2402), or permission of the instructor. General Education Electives: Humanities
