Students will explore the various forms of literature found in American Sign Language (ASL). Through video, DVD and live performances of the genres of ASL literature will be identified and examined. The historical, psychological and cultural aspects of the "deaf experience" will be identified and analyzedand subsequently correlated with the development of the various genres of ASL literature. (3 hour lecture)
