Program development in Early Childhood Education is the fourth in a sequence of four courses in Early Childhood Education. The course is primarily concerned with the investigation of effective Early Childhood programming and includes the major areas of the learning environment, disadvantaged children, federal and state programs, special needs and at risk children, current model programs, rules and regulations, and professionalism. Assessment of children and reporting of progress will be examined. The course will emphasize the fostering of effective family/ school relationships. (The module on rules and regulations satisfies H.R.S. requirements as mandated by the State of Florida.) The course combines three hours per week in the college classroom with a supervised field experience of at least 40 Hours per semester. Prerequisite: EEC 1000 must earn a grade of C or better. (3 hour lecture)
