This course focuses on the preparation of the treatment area, positioning and turning, and the application of proper body mechanics. Students develop knowledge of the physiological effects, indications, contraindications, precautions, and potential adverse reactions, and the skills to safely apply the following physical therapy interventions: range of motion, basic therapeutic exercise, tilt table, massage, intermittent compression, superficial heat, and cryotherapy. Lecture: 3 hours per week. Lab 2 hours per week. 4 credits
