(3) Prerequisite: Art 147. Class hours: 2 lecture, 4 laboratory. Aesthetic exploration of ideas using potter's wheel and/or hand-building techniques to create both utilitarian and sculptural forms. The development of techniques and procedures is designed to further the student's understanding and ability to manipulate clay body formation, glazes, kiln firings and surface enrichment and to emphasize creation of well-made objects. Classes are held at the Community Arts Center. Lab fee required. UC/IND/CSU
