Introduction to black-and-white photographyusing traditional and digital photography, with emphasis on personal and artistic expression. Explores photography issues in historical, fine arts and mass media context. Covers range of photography; artists, styles, composition, genre, camera operation, film stocks, photo papers, filters, lighting and its effect on the subject, film processing, enlarging-darkroom technique, and digital darkroom. Students use 35mm and digital cameras. Lab fee required. (CAN ART 18) UC/IND/CSU
