3 Credits This course is a continuation of CGS-1760 (Introduction to Unix). The focus is hands-on Linux system administration. Topics include system administration concepts, system installation and configuration. Additional topics include understanding the UNIX file system, configuring basic system hardware and services, managing user accounts, basic system security and backups. Major Unix variants will also be covered. This course continues with CGS-2764 (Unix/ Linux Administration II). Prerequisite: CGS-1000 or permission of instructor
