3 Credits Introduces the students to the basics of local area networks. Provides an overview of networking, including a history of development and the uses and benefits of networks. Students are introduced to major network components with a discussion of critical selection considerations. Covers the prerequisite concepts necessary for the Microsoft program and will provide background information for the Cisco certification program. Prerequisite: CGS-1000 or permission of instructor.
