This course will introduce the student to advanced keyboard techniques and piano pedagogy. Technical studies will concentrate on accompaniment skills in different styles including art song, opera, musical theater and instrumental chamber music. Pedagogical methods for teaching private piano will be introduced and surveyed; sample lessons will be demonstrated in class. This course is intended for piano majors. Prerequisite: MU 226 or instructor approval.
