Prerequi?site: ENC 1101 with a minimum grade of "C." (Meets Area IIHumanities requirement.) This course is an introduction to aims and methods of philosophy through a survey of Western thought from the modern to the contemporary world. The course deals with major philosophical problems treated in the works of such philosophers as Descartes, Locke, Hume, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Dewey, Sartre, and Russell. This course is a Gordon Rule writing course where students will produce extensive college level writing and requires completion with a minimum grade of "C."
