Designed for the EMT student, teaching the fundamentals of gaining access to and disentanglement of victims of vehicular crashes. Emphasis is placed on victim and rescuer safety. Actual use of available rescue tools is included. Packaging of patients to protect against possible spinal injuries is demonstrated and assessed. The course takes place with a mock scene and "junk" cars are used for experience with rescue tools. (Students whoare not active duty military must show proof of a valid Florida Driver's License.)
