Prerequisite: EMT certificate or permission of the instructor. This course is designed for the EMS student, teaching the fundamentals of safely recognizing and managing a terrorist attack on a civilian population. Emphasis is placed on the recognition and safe response to terrorist attacks including chemical, biological, radiological, and explosive agents. Includes proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ambulatory and incapacitated decontamination, and coordination with other public service agencies through the use of unified command structure.
