Prerequisite: EMT certificate or permission of the instructor. This course is designed for the EMS student, teaching the fundamentals of recognizing infants and children that are at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, including the strategies that are needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children and the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.
