Prerequisite: Admission to Law Enforcement program and permission of the Law Enforcement program coordinator. This course is part of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission Law Enforcement Basic Recruit certification program. By the end of this course students should be able to safely pull over a vehicle; identify and articulate the stop/violation; obtain necessary information from the driver/passenger; safely complete the stop; safely effect an arrest; follow NHTSA guidelines in conducting a DUI stop; and accurately complete the required documentation.
