This course provides a broad survey of common, current operating systems. The student develops a strong foundation learning the history, types, and functions of operating systems used on personal computers. Multiple operating systems are introduced in a vendor neutral format including Windows, Linux, NetWare, and the Mac OS. The course discusses how operating systems interface with input, output, and storage devices.
