Presents the significant contributions made by important designers and primary design movements such as Arts and Crafts,Art Nouveau, Futurism, the Bauhaus,Art Deco and Modernism.Through weekly lectures, films, required readings and the viewing of hundreds of examples of design (including craft and industrial design, architectural design, graphic design, advertising design, book and publication design, poster art and illustration) students gain an understanding of the importance of design throughout history. Prereq: ENG Composition I (ENG 101, 103, or 105); Recomm: ART 104
