An introduction to the history of photography from prephotographic times to its most recent developments. This course presents an overview of major photographers and trends, technological developments, and stylistic analysis. Students examine the social and cultural contexts in which photographs are made, as well as critical approaches to photography and the relationship of photography to other art forms.
