Classical and modern approaches to the nature of inherited characteristics. Problem solving and descriptive approaches applied. Laboratory involves both breeding experiments and molecular biological work. Human genetic examples used. Laboratory involves the use of live Drosophlia ( fruit flies.) (4 cr. hrs.) (Spring). Prerequisite: BIOL 1020 or 1510 and a semester of college chemistry, or one year of college biology. Lecture/laboratory. May not be substituted for BIOL 1520. Lab fee.
