Introduces basic process instrumentation and control systems, analog to digital and digital to analog conversion with emphasis on computer control interfacing to processes. Use of LabView data acquisition software to acquire and analyze data. Application of operational amplifiers to these systems, transducers, grounding, shielding, effect of feedback, measurement means, controller characteristics, and stability analysis. (4 cr. hrs.) (Spring). Prerequisites: ELEC 2010, 2030. Lecture/laboratory. Lab fee.
