Prerequisite: COM 111 or permission of coordinator LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. Instruction and practice in information gathering, basic and specialized reporting, interpretive and investigative reporting, government and statistical writing, press law and ethics. Students are trained to write, copy-edit and typeset on computer. A one-time commitment of 6 hours of newspaper production on campus is required.
