LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. This course satisfies the Diversity/Global Perspective requirement. An examination of the variety of governmental systems, both western and non-western, whose importance is reflected in the increasing interdependent nature of the world community. The political systems of the traditional European powers (Great Britain, Germany, and Russia) and strategically important non-western nation-states (Japan, China, India, and Mexico) will be reviewed. Trends in government in the developing countries will be studied as well.
