Prerequisite or Corequisite: BIO 226 and PSY 101. An overview of the relationship among the concepts of person, health, and nursing. The client's needs for a safe, effective environment, physiological integrity, and psycho-social integrity are explored. The nursing process is introduced as the problem solving technique. In addition, the student acquires the knowledge and skills essential to meet the basic needs of individuals exhibiting predictable health care needs. Clinical laboratory experience is gained in the college laboratory, the local hospital and a nursing home (60 lecture and 135 laboratory hours).
