Prerequisite: MAT 100 or equivalent. This course is the first of a two-semester sequence designed to prepare students for calculus and technical courses. Course topics include an introduction to relations and functions; the study of linear, quadratic, polynomial, and rational expressions and functions; and right triangle trigonometry. Algebraic techniques of simplification will be emphasized. The use of a graphing calculator is required for this course to further the exploration of these topics and their applications.
