Prerequisite: Second year students who have completed at least 30 credit hours and CRI 101. This course is designed to provide the student with a working knowledge of the theoretical and practical problems related to the unlawful trafficking and use of controlled substances and the social, health, economic and political ramifications of unlawful drug trafficking and illicit drug use. Specific emphasis will be placed on the impact of unlawful drug trafficking and illicit drug use on law enforcement and correctional agencies, youths, families, education, employment, and other institutions of government. Special attention will be focused on the relationship between international drug trafficking and the funding of terrorism.
