2 class hours 2 Credits Corequisite: AHSK 2200, EMST 2201, EMST 2202 This course introduces the concepts of pathophysiology as it correlates to disease processes. It emphasizes the pathophysiology of cardiovascular and respiratory events as well as shock and hypoxia. It includes the effects of trauma and/or disease on the cell, along with acid-base and fluid and electrolyte balances. The body's selfdefense mechanisms and the relationship of stress and disease are also addressed.
