Prerequisite: BIO 1010 and BIO 10l0L or BIO 1020 and BIO 1020L or biology placement plus MTH 1000 or MTH 1040 or math placement; or BIO 1060 and BIO 1060L or BIO 1070 and BIO 1070L Students learn the basic principles of ecology. They study the interrelationships of plants and animals with physical and biotic factors of the environment, the structure and composition of terrestrial and aquatic communities, and population dynamics. Also included are competition, predator/prey interactions, nutrient cycles, and energy flow. Students who have received credit for BIO 1700 may not receive credit for BIO 2017. This is a web-based course.
