Prerequisite: none Students are introduced to the field of school-age child care. Emphasis is placed on growth and development of children from five to 12 years of age. Development and implementation of age-appropriate activities is considered as well as classroom management, environmental planning challenges, utilization of community resources, and communication techniques. Basic language skills are presumed, used, and evaluated. Offered irregularly. Credit for this course may be earned through departmental examination.
