Prerequisite: EMS 1400 taken in the same or a previous semester; or state or national EMT-B certification or permission of department chair Augmenting EMS 1400, this course introduces the emergency care skills that completes the foundation for EMT-I and EMT-P practice. Focusing on patient assessment and airway management, the following topics are addressed: history taking, physical examination, patient assessment, clinical decision- making, EMS communications, documentation, airway management, and ventilation. Credit for this course may be earned through portfolio assessment. Offered irregularly. Course fee: $200.00
