Prerequisite: MTH 0900 or placement at MTH 0900 This course is designed for healthcare workers/nursing students who will be administering critical intravenous medications. Basic math concepts are applied to critical intravenous medication calculations. Emphasis is placed on accurately calculating the following areas: critical intravenous medications to be given over a specific time period; correction of errors when intravenous flow rates are inaccurate; intravenous fluid volumes over specified time periods; and intravenous heparin and pediatric critical intravenous medications given over specified time periods and for specific body weight. Offered irregularly.
