Prerequisite: BIO 2080, BIO 2080L, and ENG 1010; plus any general education COM and MTH course; six credits from BIO-2010, BIO 2010L, PSY-1010, SOC-1010; or Arts and Humanities general education elective; plus must have an active Maryland LPN license; and must have been employed 1,000 hours as an LPN This course is intended for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who are preparing to enter the associate's degree nursing program. Students explore the nursing process, North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC), nursing history, critical thinking, communication, college success skills, and lab skills needed to transition from the role of the licensed practical nurse into the Associate's Degree Nursing Program. Based on self assessment, students explore common biopsychosocial conditions across the lifespan, refining and updating previous learning to meet the goal of a successful transition. A grade of "C" is required to passthe course. Offered irregularly. Course fee: $35.00
