Prerequisite: OFT 1002 or OFT 1010 or pass 35 w.p.m. keyboarding test during first class Students develop skill in operating dictation/transcription equipment and a microcomputer to transcribe legal material. Topics covered include: legal office practices, litigation, initiating a lawsuit, answering a lawsuit, discovery/judgment, preparing correspondence, probate practice, wills, probate procedures, and guardianships. Independent lab time is required in addition to class time. Course fee: $30.00 (plus $50.00 refundable equipment fee)
