Prerequisite: PGL 1011 In this elective legal specialty course, students examine the legal aspects of family law including divorce, separation, adoption, child custody, and marital property awards. Emphasis is on Maryland law and on the processes a paralegal may handle such as preparing complaints for divorce, property settlement and separation agreements, and interviewing clients. Topics include jurisdictional issues of divorce; separation and annulment; child custody and visitation; and alimony, child support, property disposition, and tax consequences. Students who have completed PGL 1410 cannot receive credit for PGL 2110. Offered irregularly. Course fee: $10.00
