Prerequisite: none Students study the composers and styles that dominated the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries from the later Baroque Period to the dawn of the 20th century. Particular attention is given to the first Viennese school of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. Important political, historic, religious, social, and philosophical influences are highlighted as well as the development of symphony, concerto, and opera.
