Prerequisite: RDG 0800 or placement In this required legal specialty course, students examine the American legal system with an emphasis on the present and potential role of the paralegal. Students are introduced to legal research, legal analysis, legal terminology, and legal ethics. Students study principles of statutory and case law, substantive and procedural law, and federal and state law. Emphasis is on practical skills utilized by entry-level paralegals. Students who have completed PGL 1010 cannot receive credit for PGL 1011. Credit for this course may be earned through departmental examination. Course fee: $10.00
