Prerequisite: PGL 1010 or PGL 1011 In this required legal specialty course, students examine the causes of action, defenses, and remedies in the major areas of tort law: intentional torts, negligence, strict liability, and products liability. Students also examine Maryland Worker's Compensation law. Emphasis is on the tasks paralegals normally perform in the tort area, including legal analysis, tort litigation procedures, worker's compensation procedures, and preparation of legal documents. It is recommended that students take PGL 2410 before enrolling in this course. Students who have received credit for PGL 1480 cannot receive credit for PGL 2180. Offered irregularly. Course fee: $20.00
