3 hours. Prerequisite: BIOL 1003/1003L with a grade of C or higher. Co-requisite: BIOL 1004L. Three hours of lecture each week. General topics to be covered include diversity of viruses and bacteria, plant and animal classification, structure and function of major plant and animal systems and ecology. Human biology is emphasized during the latter part of the course. This class is intended for the non-science major interested in a general understanding of biological concepts. Fall, Spring, Summer.
