3 hours. Prerequisite: CISM 2201 with minimum grade of "C". This course will cover the principles and practices in information modeling and database design; methods to analyze information requirements, devise data models, construct schemas and implement models within common database management software; use of DBMS software to create databases, perform queries, produce reports and perform standard maintenance functions. Students passing the MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) exam in Access 2000 may receive credit by exam for this course. Spring.
