Four hours weekly. Prerequisite: Math 531. A study of the fundamental ideas and methods used to simplify expressions and to solve equations and inequalities, including applications. Topics covered include the real numbers equations and inequalities, factoring, rational expressions, introduction to square roots, polynomials, graphing, and quadratic equations. Not open to students who are enrolled in or have completed Math 313 or 314 or who are enrolled in or have completed Math 316, 317, 318, or 319. (GR/P/NP) (F,S,U)
