4 Credits Students examine the seminal works of Greek and Roman civilization, beginning with Homer's Odyssey. This will be followed by the dramatic works of Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides; the comedies of Aristophanes; and the philosophical dialogues of Plato. The Roman segment of the course will include works such as Vergil's The Aeneid, and the lyric poems of Catullus, Tibullus, Propertius, and Ovid.
