(Formerly CUP 3209) 3 credits, 3 hours Pre-requisite: ESL 091 or ENG 091 when offered in English; SPA 121 when offered in Spanish The student will discuss the concepts of history and civilization in order to apply these concepts to the realities of Pre- Colombian America. The student will study and explain the historical development of colonial Latin America, its foundation, growth, and institutions. The student will be able to appraise the effects of colonial policies upon later growth and developments in Latin America.
