3 credits, 3 hours Pre/Co-requisite: ENG 091 or ESL 091 or above This course will explore the city as it has been seen through the eyes of painters, photographers, sculptors and architects on the 20th and 21st century. Using the resources of the web, students in this online course will examine the ways in which artists have responded to the city: sections of the course include 1) documenting urban society and culture; 2) cityscape and landscape; 3) the individual in the city; 4) war and the city; 5) living and working spaces in the city; 6) the family in the city.
