Prerequisite: SPA 215. SPA 350 is suggested. This course provides students with knowledge of the historical and geographic factors that lead to the development and spread of the Spanish language throughout the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, and knowledge of Spanish phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics, and syntax necessary to understand the technical aspects of the historical development of the Spanish language from Latin to Modern Spanish.
