Three hours lecture Two hours discussion/quiz and Four hours laboratory per week. UC Credit Limitation/CSU, AA GE, CSU GE, IGETC, CAN CHEM 4 Prerequisite: Completion of CHEM 111AC with a grade of "C" orbetter. This course covers kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium. Students explore the relationship between these subjects through the study of acid-base chemistry, solubility, electrochemistry, and the chemistry of transition metals. Study of these systems highlights the connection between structure and function. In laboratory, students investigate these topics while developing techniques that support the careful collection and analysis of data. Written reports emphasize communicating the laboratory results while applying the course concepts.
