(Same as HI 100 C) Two hours lecture per week. CSU This course investigates how and where health care is delivered in the United States and examines different health care practitioners and professional healthcare associations; the role of federal, state and local governments in health care; and the impact of managed care organizations. How consumers pay for health care as well as how health care providers receive reimbursement for services are discussed. The principles of customer focused health care are discussed. Current issues affecting the delivery of health care are emphasized. The course is recommended for students interested in health care or preparing for careers in health care.
