One and three-quarter hours lecture and Five and one-quarter hours laboratory per week. CSU Prerequisite: NURS 291 C and NURS 292 C. This course presents historical, cultural, and contemporary research concepts as related to the mental health-illness continuum. Through use of the nursing process and communication, individual emotional needs are assessed and nursing interventions are theoretically designed to promote more effective resolution of these needs. Emphasis is placed on interpersonal process through self-awareness, use of self as a therapeutic agent, and use of community resources.
