One hour lecture and Three hours laboratory per week. UC Credit Limitation/CSU Prerequisite: Entry into this class will be based on the student's previous medical history. The course includes instruction and participation in the fundamentals of the spectrum of wheelchair athletics. The course is expressly designed for, but not limited to, those students with permanent disability of the lower extremities who are therefore unable to participate in regular able-bodied athletics. The emphasis is on rules, safety, general awareness of wheelchair athletic alternatives with specific skill development in wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis leading to competition in California and U.S. wheelchair basketball and tennis programs.
