Three hours lecture and Three hours laboratory per week. UC Credit Limitation/CSU, CSU GE, IGETC, CAN PHYS 14 Prerequisite: PHYS 221 C, and MATH 150BC, with grades of "C"or better. Advisory: Concurrent enrollment in MATH 250AC or MATH 250BC. This course is part of a three-semester program of introductory calculus based on physics for students majoring in physics, chemistry, geology, engineering (all specializations), mathematics, and other related fields. It may be taken before or after PHYS 222 C. Topics covered include fluid mechanics, oscillations and waves, thermodynamics and kinetic theory, geometrical and physical optics, special theory of relativity, introduction to quantum mechanics, atomic physics, and nuclear physics.
